OSISIOMA — THE GOOD TREE (PROFESSOR O.B.C NOWOLISE)

By: Maruf Nola Gbadebo

I pay homage to the elders telling the tale
of a giant of time
The one whose name immortalises our memory;
the one whose name rings a bell in the ears of time;
the one who walks through the annals of our national history, of our national memory
The giant tree that sees beyond the horizon,
Beyond the silver lining after every cloud.
A legend who has soared high and high through the oven of the sun to make a dream a reality with an unquenchable love for knowledge
The one who has lived through the thickness of time; the roaring of the wind; yet never gives up.
The Ndigbo spirit of greatness resides in him but never confines him to the hollowness of bigotry
The father of all— the West; the North and the East.

THE GREAT COUNTRY— ‘NIGERIA’.
OSISIOMA— THE GOOD TREE THAT BEARS THE GOOD FRUITS, YOU ARE. Homage always to you.
